Etherscan

The Ethereum block explorer — your first stop when an ERC-20 transfer looks stuck.

Etherscan

What it is

Etherscan is the public block explorer for Ethereum. Every transfer on Ethereum — including ERC-20 tokens like USDT-ERC20 — can be looked up in real time using its transaction hash (TxID).

When you need it

  • A withdrawal from an exchange hasn't arrived and you want to check whether it was actually broadcast
  • Confirming a deposit is on-chain and counting confirmations before the exchange credits it
  • Verifying a "payment sent" screenshot someone shows you

Quick start

  1. Copy the TxID (transaction hash) from your exchange's withdrawal record.
  2. Paste it into the Etherscan search box. Success means the transfer is complete on-chain.
  3. If it's successful on-chain but not credited by the exchange, it's usually pending confirmations or batch crediting — file a ticket with the TxID attached.

Safety note

Etherscan is read-only. It never asks you to connect a wallet or enter a seed phrase. Any "Etherscan" page demanding wallet synchronization is fake.
