Buyer Marked Paid on OKX P2P but No Money Arrived? Seller Checklist
“Buyer paid” is not proof of bank receipt. Verify the real transaction, reject screenshots, do not release crypto and dispute inside the order.
Checked July 12, 2026. This guide is for the P2P seller. “Buyer paid” is a platform status, not proof that your bank received money.
After the buyer marks an order paid, open your own bank app, confirm the full completed credit and payer identity, then release crypto. A screenshot, SMS, email or urgent message cannot replace bank receipt.
Five checks before release
- Open the bank app directly—never through a buyer’s link.
- Confirm the full amount and a completed, not pending, status.
- Compare the payer name with the platform buyer and order rules.
- If nothing arrived, state that in the in-order chat and do not release.
- Open Orders → the order → Need Help and dispute the missing payment.
OKX’s official selling guide requires sellers to verify the correct amount themselves and not rely on a buyer’s screenshot: How to sell on OKX P2P. Release is generally final.
Common deception patterns
- forged successful-transfer images;
- scheduled or pending transfers presented as completed;
- a fake support agent claiming the payment was verified;
- payer name inconsistent with the buyer;
- partial payment blamed on transfer fees;
- pressure to continue on Telegram or WhatsApp.
Dispute evidence
Keep the order number, buyer profile, platform chat, any payment proof supplied by the buyer, and your bank history for the relevant time window. Mask unrelated transactions while retaining the account holder, time and information needed to show no credit.
If funds arrive later, verify payer identity and amount before following the platform’s resolution. Do not privately refund during an active dispute or send crypto to another address provided in chat.
