Moving Crypto from Binance to OKX: Steps, Network Choice, and Pitfalls

Transferring assets between exchanges is just a withdrawal plus a deposit - but the network mismatch, pasted-wrong address, and missing memo mistakes are permanent. Here is the safe sequence.

Moving Crypto from Binance to OKX: Steps, Network Choice, and Pitfalls

Checked July 13, 2026. Supported networks and fees change constantly; follow what both platforms display at the moment you transfer.

Moving assets between exchanges is nothing more than a withdrawal on one side and a deposit on the other. The mechanics are easy; the danger is that on-chain transfers have no undo button. Three mistakes - wrong network, wrong address, missing memo - account for nearly every loss. Work through the sequence below and none of them can happen.

Step 1: get your deposit address on OKX

Open Assets → Deposit in the OKX app, choose the coin (say, USDT), then choose the network. Whatever you pick here is what you must pick on Binance. Copy the address - and if the page also shows a memo/tag (only some assets use one), copy that too.

Step 2: start the withdrawal on Binance

On Binance, go to Wallet → Withdraw, select the same coin, paste the OKX address, and select the exact same network as the OKX deposit page. Enter the amount, review the fee and the net amount that will arrive, pass 2FA, and submit.

Choosing the network:

  • Withdrawal fees for the same coin can differ by an order of magnitude between networks; USDT on TRC20 or another low-fee chain is usually far cheaper than ERC20;
  • The cheap network only helps if both sides support it - picking a chain the receiving platform does not list is how funds get stranded;
  • A full fee breakdown by network is in the withdrawal fee guide.

Step 3: track and confirm

After Binance's internal review, the transaction goes on-chain and you get a TxID you can follow in any block explorer. OKX credits the deposit once it reaches the required confirmations - typically minutes to half an hour. If it takes longer, run the missing-deposit checklist.

The three irreversible mistakes

Mistake Consequence Prevention
Network mismatch Funds may not credit automatically Compare network names character by character before submitting
Wrong or tampered address Assets go to a stranger, unrecoverable Verify the first and last 6 characters; always paste, never type
Missing memo/tag Funds reach the platform but cannot be attributed If a memo field exists, both fields are mandatory

If you did pick the wrong network, stop - do not repeat the transfer - and follow the wrong-network recovery guide.

FAQ

Q: How much should the first transfer be? The smallest viable test amount (above OKX's minimum deposit for that coin and network). One extra fee buys you certainty.

Q: Can I cancel mid-transfer? Sometimes during Binance's internal review stage; never once it is on-chain.

Q: Do the account names need to match? On-chain transfers do not check names - only the address matters. Still, complete KYC on both sides so withdrawals and credits are not held up; see the withdrawal restriction list.
