Missing or Wrong Memo/Tag on an OKX Deposit? Stop and Do This
A missing or incorrect memo/tag can prevent XRP, XLM and similar deposits from being credited. Identify the error and submit the right evidence.
Checked July 12, 2026. The label and format—memo, tag or comment—depend on the asset and network.
Some platform deposit addresses are shared. The memo or tag maps an on-chain payment to the correct customer account. With the right address but a missing or incorrect identifier, the transaction can succeed on-chain yet fail to credit automatically.
Stop before doing anything else
Do not send another transfer, enter random digits, or hire a recovery contact from social media. Preserve the original transaction and determine whether the problem is the memo, network or address.
Diagnostic order
- Reopen the same asset and network under Assets → Deposit and copy the correct address and memo/tag.
- Copy the TxID from the sender and inspect the actual identifier on a block explorer.
- Compare the correct memo, submitted memo and receiving address character by character.
- Use the Tag/Memo issue route in the official OKX Support Center.
OKX explains that both the address and identifier are required when displayed. For a mistake, prepare the asset, amount, correct and incorrect tag, TxID and network: Why tags are required and What to do after omitting one.
Ticket checklist
Include your UID, receiving address, asset, network, amount, TxID, correct identifier, the incorrect identifier or “missing,” sending-platform record, explorer screenshot and RFC3339 transfer time.
Recovery is not guaranteed. Processing time and any legitimate service fee must come from the official ticket—not a private wallet address.
Prevent the next error
Copy the address and memo separately from the deposit page, compare both on the sender’s confirmation screen, and test with an amount above the minimum deposit. If the sender has no memo field, ask the receiving platform before transferring; never invent a value.
